As our world incorporates more and more technology into our daily lives, libraries must stay up to date with current trends in order to remain relevant. Libraries are no longer just a storage place for print books, magazines, and newspapers. Public, school, and specialty libraries are expected to have the latest cutting edge technological advancements to help lure in patrons who prefer using electronic tools. This would include subscriptions to journal databases, movie streaming services, e-books, e-magazines, e-newspapers, makerspaces, and countless other e-resources. Aside from specifically digital updates, libraries need to find alternative ways to draw in patrons. Creating a makerspace, hosting book clubs, speaker series, movie nights, and other community oriented activities will also encourage use of the library. Libraries can also branch out by developing special collections such as a seed library or tool library. The possibilities are endless as libraries begin to change their approach and appeal to the digitally inclined community.
